What we collect,
in plain terms.

The short version
This is a static reference site. There are no accounts, no logins and no member area. You can read every page on it without giving us anything.
What we actually receive
If you send the contact form, we get the name, email address and message you typed. That is used to reply to you and to fix whatever you told us about. It is not sold, rented or added to a marketing list.
Our web host records standard server request logs, which include IP address, browser user agent and the page requested. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
Analytics
If privacy-respecting analytics are running on this site, they measure page views in aggregate. They are not used to build a profile of you across other websites.
Cookies
The site itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any trip tools that remember your inputs do so in your own browser storage, on your device. Clearing your browser data clears them, and nothing about those inputs is transmitted to us.
Links to other sites
We link out constantly — to reservation systems, park agencies, map searches and our companion sites. Once you follow a link, that site's privacy policy governs, not this one.
Affiliate relationships
Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links, which means a purchase may earn this site a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend, and it does not give us access to your order details beyond an anonymous confirmation that a sale happened.
Children
This site is aimed at adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
To have a message you sent us deleted, ask through the contact page and we will remove it.
Use the contact page and pick “Something else”.
