Walk the full perimeter of the site and pick up everything
Antenna down, satellite stowed, vents closed
Steps retracted and the door latched from outside
Hitch and safety chains checked by hand, not by eye
Tire pressures checked cold, including the spare
Fridge latched and loose items on the floor, not the counter

On the way in

Confirm arrival cut-off time and after-hours procedure
Note the lowest clearance on the final approach road
Fuel and dump before the last twenty miles, not after
Have the reservation name and site number ready

First five minutes on the site

Walk the site before backing in — look for low branches, stumps, soft ground
Find the pedestal and check which side it is on
Check the pedestal with a surge protector before plugging in
Spot the sewer inlet and confirm the hose will reach downhill
Note where the slides will land

Getting level and set

Level side to side first, then front to back
Chock the wheels before unhitching anything
Stabilizers down after levelling, never as levelling
Slides out only once you are level and chocked

Hooking up

Surge protector in first, shore cord second
Pressure regulator and filter on before the freshwater hose
Sewer hose supported on a slope, connection seated and locked
Confirm polarity and voltage on the protector display
Propane on, detectors confirmed working

Before you settle in

Locate the bathhouse, dumpster and the nearest exit
Note quiet hours and generator hours
Check phone signal and, if it matters, test the park Wi-Fi
Point the tow vehicle so you are not blocked in
Photograph the pedestal and site number for the record
