The short version

  • You must be 25 or older with a full, unrestricted license, a clean driving record and a credit card, and you'll pass a driver check after booking.
  • Book more than 37 days out and you pay 25% up front; the other 75% is charged 37 days before departure.
  • The security deposit is authorized three days before pickup and released after the booking is closed out.
  • Protection plans are Basic, Standard, Premium or Stationary, with deductibles listed as starting from $1,500, $750, $500 and $1,000.
  • Cancel more than 30 days out and you lose only the service fee; 8 to 30 days out costs half the rental; 7 days or less costs all of it.

RVezy is a peer-to-peer marketplace: private owners and small fleets (RVezy calls them hosts) list their motorhomes and trailers, and you book through RVezy's site or app. You send a request, the host approves it, RVezy takes payment on a fixed schedule, and a protection plan you choose at checkout covers the trip. Hosts set their own nightly rates, deposits, cleaning fees and delivery fees, so two similar RVs can price very differently.

Everything below comes from RVezy's help center and protection pages as checked in October 2026. Policies change, and your rental agreement is what actually governs your trip, so read it before you pay.

Who can rent on RVezy

RVezy's guest FAQ lists four basic requirements:

  • You are at least 25 years old at the time of the rental.
  • You hold a full, unrestricted driver's license.
  • You have a clean driving record.
  • You have a valid credit card.

After your booking is paid and confirmed, you go through a background and driving record check. RVezy says this applies even if the RV is being delivered and you never plan to drive it. Once you pass, you're added to the booking as an approved driver. Anyone else who will drive needs to be approved too.

Payment cards

RVezy says it accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards plus Visa debit cards. It does not accept PayPal, e-transfer, checks or prepaid cards, and all payments must go through the platform.

The booking flow, step by step

  1. Search. Filter by location, dates, guests, RV type, price, pet-friendly, delivery, Instant Book, length and weight. Map and list views are both available.
  2. Create a verified account. You'll need government-issued ID.
  3. Send a request and pick add-ons. Hosts can offer extras such as linens, kitchen kits, camp chairs, a generator, septic service, or campground delivery and setup.
  4. Choose protection and roadside. You select a protection plan from RVezy's partner providers at checkout.
  5. Pay. Your payment schedule depends on how far ahead you book (details below).
  6. Host approval and documents. Once the host accepts, you complete the approved-driver steps and sign the rental agreement in the app.
  7. Pickup inspection. You and the host do a departure walkthrough. RVezy suggests allowing about an hour for each inspection.
  8. Return and closeout. A return inspection, then the booking is closed out in the system.

Use the host messaging before you book to ask about mileage, generator hours, pet rules and anything else the listing doesn't spell out. Those terms vary by host.

What you pay, and when

A booking total is built from the host's nightly rate, any add-ons, cleaning and delivery fees the host charges, RVezy's service fee, the protection plan, and taxes for the state or province where the RV is located.

RVezy's service fee

RVezy charges a service fee on the rental amount, add-ons and any post-booking charges. The percentage isn't fixed: RVezy says it depends on lead time, availability, the vehicle's value and trip length. There is a floor. If the calculated fee comes out lower, RVezy charges a minimum of $15 per night for motorhomes and $10 per night for trailers.

Payment schedule

When you bookWhat's charged at bookingWhat's charged later
More than 37 days before departure25% of the total (or pay in full if you prefer)Remaining 75% charged 37 days before departure
Within 37 days of departure100% of the totalNothing, apart from the security deposit

If the balance payment fails, RVezy gives you until 30 days before the trip to fix it. After that the booking is cancelled. You can also pay the balance early from the booking's payment details page.

Security deposit

Every booking has a refundable security deposit, and the host sets the amount. RVezy authorizes it on your card three days before the rental starts and releases it after the RV is returned and the booking is closed out. Because it's a hold on your card, make sure you have the available credit.

Protection plans and roadside assistance

RVezy doesn't sell insurance itself. Instead, eligible bookings include a renter protection plan from its insurance partners, and you pay the plan fee as part of your booking. Coverage only applies during an active booking and only if you use the RV according to the listing and RVezy's policies. Listings in regions where RVezy doesn't support coverage say so, and those carry no RVezy protection.

The four plans

PlanDeductible (starting from)Roof and windshieldTowing distance (US)
Basic$1,500You pay all roof and windshield costs100 miles
Standard (default)$750Up to $5,000 roof and $750 windshield beyond the deductible200 miles
Premium$500Covered beyond the deductible400 miles
Stationary$1,000For delivered RVs that won't be movedNot applicable

In the US, RVezy says all driving plans include state minimum liability, physical damage coverage and 24-hour roadside assistance. In Canada, plans include collision and comprehensive coverage, roadside assistance and $2 million in third-party liability. Deductibles shown are starting points: the exact figure for your RV is in your rental agreement.

RVezy describes Basic as suited to experienced RVers and trailer rentals, Standard as the usual pick, and Premium as aimed at first-timers, long trips and motorhomes. Our owner-side insurance explainer covers how the same coverage looks from the host's side.

Roadside assistance

RVezy's roadside partner is Access Roadside. Service applies when the RV is stranded and inoperable. RVezy's help center says to contact your host first, and if the host can't solve it, call Access Roadside at 1-866-227-2213 with your booking number.

  • Mechanical failure or wear and tear: the host pays for repairs and retrieval. You cover your own way home, though you may get a refund for unused nights.
  • Breakdown you caused: you pay for the repair and the host's retrieval costs.
  • Not covered: windshield repairs, alternative transport like rental cars or trains, incidents in prohibited travel areas, and lodging or cab costs above your plan's limit.
Check your own coverage too

Personal auto policies and credit card rental benefits often don't extend to motorhomes. Our guide to RV rental costs shows where protection fits in the total price.

Delivery to your campsite

If you don't want to drive or tow, filter for delivery. The host brings the RV to your campsite, levels it, connects utilities where available, walks you through the systems, and returns to pick it up. RVezy doesn't deliver; hosts do.

  • Fees are set by the host. Some charge per mile or kilometer with a minimum fee, and each host sets a maximum distance. Motorhome delivery tends to cost more than trailer delivery because the host needs a second vehicle and driver to get home.
  • You book the campsite. Reserve your site yourself and share the site number, gate instructions and any tight access with the host.
  • You still need to be an approved driver, even if the RV never moves.
  • Both of you must be present for the drop-off and pickup inspections.
  • Protection switches to Stationary if you say you won't move the RV. RVezy lists a $1,000 deductible for that plan.

Line up delivery times with the campground's check-in and checkout rules. RVezy suggests building in an extra day if timing is tight. Our post on getting an RV rental delivered to your campsite goes deeper on campground rules.

Cancellations and refunds

RVezy's guest cancellation policy is tiered by how far you are from the trip start:

When you cancelWhat you get back
Within 24 hours of the host accepting (and more than 24 hours before the trip)Full refund
More than 30 days before the tripRental amount refunded; you lose RVezy's service fee and its tax
8 to 30 days before50% of the rental amount refunded; service fee and its tax not refunded
7 days or less beforeNo refund of the rental amount or service fee

Add-ons, preparation fees, delivery fees and the protection plan, plus their taxes, are refunded whenever you cancel. If the host cancels on you, RVezy says you get everything back, including fees and taxes. A separate natural disaster policy also exists, and cancellations can't be undone once confirmed.

Before you book: a renter's checklist

  1. Confirm you qualify. Age 25+, clean record, a real credit card with room for the deposit hold.
  2. Read the listing's rules. Mileage, generator hours, pets, smoking, travel restrictions and cleaning expectations come from the host.
  3. Price the whole trip. Nightly rate plus fees, protection, campground costs and fuel. Our towable vs drivable comparison helps if you're unsure which type to rent.
  4. Pick a protection plan on purpose. A lower deductible costs more up front but caps what a mistake costs you.
  5. Time your booking against the cancellation tiers. If plans might change, know your 30-day and 7-day dates.
  6. Budget an hour at each end for inspections, and photograph the RV inside and out at pickup.

No. RVezy's guest FAQ says renters must be at least 25 at the time of the rental. That applies to approved drivers as well.

Does RVezy charge the security deposit when I book?

No. The deposit is authorized on your card three days before the rental begins, and the hold is released after the RV is returned and the booking is closed out. The host sets the amount.

Who pays if the RV breaks down?

If it's a mechanical failure or normal wear, RVezy says the host pays for repairs and retrieval. If the breakdown was caused by the guest, the guest pays. Either way, contact the host first, then Access Roadside.

Can I pay with PayPal or a prepaid card?

No. RVezy accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards and Visa debit cards, and says it does not accept PayPal, e-transfer, checks or prepaid cards.

What happens if the host cancels?
